Risks

Dear Friends and everybody you know who wishes they had a good one right about now:

Watching Tavis Smiley @ midnight. A neat New York dude named Jason Zweig, also a Wall Street writer, wrote a book called "The Little Book of Safe Money: How to conquer killer markets, con artists, and yourself."

He's got some great "commandments" in that book...one stuck with me:

"Thou shalt take no risk that thou needest not take."

People can see that in two way depending on their level of confidence vs fear:

Way 1: People who've been burnt badly in emotional, spiritual, mental, financial and phyically abusive ways can live based on the past and freeze themselves against opportunities...or...

Way 2:People who are surrounded by supportive caring listening and understanding take-no-nonsense people who commit to you if you commit to them, will help us all get past the fear, so we can move on in spite of the outcome.

If it doesn't kill ya' it'll make you stronger.  The economy is killing off a lot of folks who lay down and say "I can't help myself, my job is gone, my marriage is crumbling, my kid is locked up, my house is foreclosed, my spirit is low and my boss is an idiot......etc. etc.

Guess what...there are survivors among us all. And they ai'n't rolling over playin' dead.

blessin's,

clr, your team spectrum webmistress.

Divorcing R-Thoughts

GoTeamSpectrum Posted by GoTeamSpectrum at 11:02 AM on September 22, 2009

Any ESPN fans out there? Great! Lets tackle this thing called business management in  terms of 3-R's and how to divorce ourselves from the negative around us.

Rejection can be thought of many ways....let's just talk about 3  of them:

1.    Rejection of  current belief in self.

When it comes to rejecting  ourselves, that really bites. Especially if one pretends to be in business. When one rejects self, they do not have the ability to fall down and get back up again. So no matter how hard it is to learn to walk upright and eventually takeoff and run in your business, if you and I are afraid of falling down and  skinning our pretty business plan kneecaps, go back to work for someone elsebecause we are not tough enough to withstand the change that ALL successful businesses, not may, but absolutely will be facing as long as we choose to be in business serving others.

2. Rejection of trust in others to mentor and support:

Ever observe a pair of two year old playing in the mud, especially if those two year olds are twins?

The owner, MINE

The perpetrator says No. MINE?

The owner says, Noooooooo! MINEMINE MINE MINE!!! One may have something  the other owns. The jealous one wants it, and the owner fights to keep from  giving it way. Enter the feud:

Big scream. Parents intervene. End of scene.

Two minutes later:

The kids are holding  hands, having the heydey of their lives. They cannot even remember what they were bitter about. They are now making mudpie enterprises and feeding them toeach other. They tell other two year olds about their mud pies.

In the  business sense of rejection, a lot of us have to learn how to share what we know. We often just show up at meetings trying with the attitude of MINE. Andwhen we meet someone else at that meeting who has the same product or is in thesame industry as ourselves we feel, like a two year old whose territory is threatened.

Ifyou and I get to the point to where we realize our businesses are never about us, that our businesses are about serving others even if it means we have to share our little sandbox of information with others who may or may not accept us, then bottom line, we will never become friends and share and play in the same arena together. We will never end up holding hands because we think it ismore fun to be on the field with a team than run the entire 100 yards by ourselves.

Success does not occur in a vacuum. (Quotes.com)

3. Rejection of your offerings.  If you have somebody that nobody else needs  or wants, how many other people are out there who want it? (Have to credit Dr. Bruce Pillow of IBN,Smaller Indiana and WBND Radio with this one)

Have you ever been excited about something, and then you make the mistake of  telling your loving friends and family about it? There's just one messy problem with that:

Everybody is not interested!!!

In a word, your friends and familytell you:

No   (British)

Naw (Scottish)

Dooda (Navajo)

Nono (French Guyanan)

Nej   (Swedish)

Non (French)

Nyet (Russian)

You Trippin? (Oakland)and the ever endearing..

#%*NO!  (Old School))

plus hundreds of otherinternational languages .

Lesson: When you and I succumb to desperation, throwing our products, our company compensation play and our dignity at prospective customers and business associates who just are not interested, then what in the Milky Way Galaxy does that one simple hard hitting ego-bruising fact have to do with you, me, and our success as business owners?

Inconclusion, think about this for a sec:

It is not up to anyone but ourselves to make sure we secure our business success (or laziness or lack of) that feeds your dreams and goals.

Do you remember why did you start your business? If you want it to run like the winds of change all around us, that reason to be in business had better be bigger than making extra money alone.

That is what jobs are for. Nothing wrong with jobs. It is just a fact that jobs are not for everyone.

And since we all strive to be the best at our game on the entrepreneurial playing field, there is this ancient Hebrew secret that lies in the midst of a really cool in best selling book:

Just because someone may love aparticular Indianapolis-area restaurant like Petersons, The Eagles Nest or The Melting Pot (which are just a few of our many door prizes at the Indianapolis Hilton forthe Oct 12, 2009 seminar ?Home Biz Myths & Truths-Plan B?)  does not mind that the restaurant needs to shut its doors.

And neither should you nor I shut our minds down when someone rejects what we love to do. So why in the world does it make sense to give up, and quit on the most important person in your skin?

Paraphrased: Stop casting your pearls to the swine.

Rejection is what it is: A reality, and a choice. Not a prophecy.

How Airlines Work

You know most people have NOT an idea about the hub and spoke system used by the airlines. This info is covered in detail in the YTB E-campus course in the affiliate's/RTAs Travel Portal.

HOW AIRLINES WORK.

From the HowStuffWorks.com website.

Note: (After an affiliate takes the First Class certification online (available 24./7) to upgrade to Referring TA they can choose to work their way to TA status. The Transportation Industry online class is amazing, and gives one a better understanding of "How Airlines Work."

Airfare Guidelines

GoTeamSpectrum Posted by GoTeamSpectrum at 07:44 AM on November 13, 2008 Comments comments (0)

Step 1:
Be flexible. The lowest fares are usually for midweek travel, generally Mondays through Thursdays. (Note-Mondays are heavy business travel days for a lot of people around the world. Traveling ON AN ACTUAL HOLIDAY DATE tends to get lower fares.)

Step 2: Know when to book. Cheap airfares usually require an advance purchase of at least seven, 14, or 21 days, but tracking prices even further in advance is smart.

Step 3: Don't count on last-minute deals. Eleventh-hour airfare deals are becoming increasingly scarce, so don't rely on finding a great fare at the last minute.

Step 4: Go off-peak. Visiting during the off-peak season will yield cheaper fares. Examples include Europe in the winter and the Caribbean in the fall.

Step 5: Fly on the holiday. If you're flying around the time of a major holiday, be aware that traveling on the holiday itself is less expensive than traveling a day or two before or after it.

Step 6: Be smart about sales. Keep an eye on airfare sales, but remember that the "sale" prices may not be the cheapest fares around.

Step 7: Shop around. Compare prices from several carriers to determine which will offer the best price and itinerary for your schedule.

Oh the weather in that part of the world is.... uh.... outside is...uh, er. . . hmmm?

Don't do an "Arsenio Hall" impression and just go "hmmmm?"

Useful Weather Travel Information Tips from UshouldVisit.com

(As noted by the above website reference.)

When traveling, don?t overlook how the weather will be at your destination. It is necessary to research enough of the details, so that you are not in for surprises. A little bit of advance planning and preparation can go a long way to ensuring a smooth trip, and can help you enjoy yourself that much more.

A good starting point is to look at the overall climate for a destination for the time of year you're planning to travel. Do some quick research on the normal climate for that location and season. This way, you can choose if you are interested in going to that particular place or not. Once this is done, you need to prepare yourself for the trip. If the weather is wet, pack an umbrella and a raincoat. If it is cold, pack sweaters, gloves, scarves, and jackets. Before leaving, check the weather again to make sure that there are no sudden changes.

Traveling to warmer areas is easier, but you will need a lot of personal care products. Pack ample amounts of suntan lotion, hats, towels, and sunglasses. You can also consider visiting a tanning salon before leaving, as it will help prevent sunburns. Traveling in the summer means that you need to pack more shorts and T-shirts. However, be careful about observing local dressing customs, especially when going abroad during the summer. Don?t forget to take the altitude of your destination into account. You will need extra layers of clothing when traveling to the hills, even in the summer.

Traveling with Baby:
(posted Sept. 27, 2008)
  • Choose carefully what you decide to bring to minimize baggage. You need something to transport baby, a place for baby to sleep and a car seat.

  • Remember the small things like outlet covers to childproof a hotel room. Garbage-bag ties can double to gather drapes and cords.

  • Carry on enough diapers, wipes and snacks for each child. Don?t forget extra outfits for babies and extra t-shirts for the adults!

  • Try to book direct flights with no layovers. Lugging around all the baby gear is time consuming and tiring. If you must have a layover, try to give yourself enough time between flights.

  • Bring cheap strollers for easy folding at security conveyor belts. Cheap umbrella strollers are also a good option as there is less to lose if something happens to it.

  • Try packing fun, kid-distracting items, like DVDs, CDs and books (both old and new). Simple things like an old purse full of random items can keep a toddler busy for hours.

  • Always pack a small first aid kit with necessities like a bulb syringe, thermometer and infant pain relief. Always keep your pediatrician?s phone number in your cell phone or wallet for easy access in case of an emergency.

  • Try going out to nice, big lunches, as opposed to fancy dinners. Lunch time is usually less crowded and the food is prepared faster, giving you less time out with a tired, cranky baby.

  • Remember, it?s a vacation! Try going with the flow and laughing it off. Relax and have some fun!

$6,000--this gets personal y'all (Posted Aug. 19, 2008)

GoTeamSpectrum Posted by GoTeamSpectrum at 05:46 PM on August 19, 2008 Comments comments (0)

This is an optional program where YTB puts its money where its mouth is. IN WRITING!

We figured out that anyone who turns this program down voluntarily is saying no to a guaranteed net income increase of at least $3,000. If you saw three grand laying in a pool of water, would you ignore it?

Well, a lot of people do that when they misinterpret the optional $6,000 guarantee.

NO...these are not YTB magazines. They are SUCCESS FROM magazines.

NO...YTB does not leave anyone behind who is too busy. People have 24 months to pass out 5 magazines a week over a 12 month period. How long does it take to say "Do you like to Travel" and "Do you keep your business options open?" Here's a magazine to look at. There's a DVD inside. I'll call you in two days what's your phone number and email address?

If they don't give you that information, take your magazine and your dignity and go home.

Now, for the math:

PART I of II:

Rounded off: 25 magazine a month on auto ship = just under $100.
All at a tax right off.

What's $100 multiplied by 12? (What do you mean you don't know?)

What's the start up cost of the one time set up fee for purchasing your travel vending machine on auto-pilot? That's right, currently $449.95 so you better get in quick.

How much does it take to stay in business for this additional income stream?
Add up dining out five times at the local buffet. ($10...not including drinks.)

Now cut that out for a year and not only will you lose weight but you will be able to write off the other few times on your taxes when you hand someone at the buffet a magazine and say "Do you like to travel" and "Do you keep your business options open?"

Okay....Part II:

At the end of the year, it's probably a good bet that even if 3 people who don't like you come into your business because they saw the money, those three will find 1 that completes your first team. Now you no longer have to pay the $49.95 monthly license fee which totals about...oh, $600 in overhead.

Add it up:

$1,200 for the magazines
$600 for being in a business with no soap boxes or makeup cases
$450 for getting the travel vending machine that's 24/7 on automatic

What's that total?
(Yept, That Right.)

Now go to VistaPrint.com and get those cheapo biz cards with the pre-designed template. Shipping is about $6 bucks for a box. Hey time is money let's just order 5 boxes of 500, that's 2500 business cards with shipping of about, oh, say $40  perhaps. (I don't know I don't work for Vista Print.) Put your name, your email, your phone and your business site ytb.com/whatever on the front for your rep site and ytbtravel.com/whatever for your multi-billion dollar inventory travel booking site.

What the heck let's SPLURGE a little: Put your Marketing site, on the front...let's go on ahead and enhance it for $15 a month. Now we have:

$1,200 for the magazines

$600 for running your business legally

$450 for your travel vending machine

$180 for your sharp new marketing page (as seen in your back office)

$40 for the cheapo biz cards

(Whoops, you just booked a 7 day Caribbean cruise for $500 per person for you and your main squeeze...and YTB pays you at least $96 back. Say what? You took 10 friends? Make that $960 back that you didn't make on your job with your "paid vacation" employee status. Now tax deduct the $1,000. (Are you all gettin' this yet?)

That $960 can be bail money for your cousin RayRay who got into a fight at the pool hall in
da-hood....again. (You know he ain't gonna pay you back so you really NEED YTB!)

Now, the 12 months is over. You signed up to do the $6,000, did everything right, and everybody you talk to hated to travel and didn't even give you your magazine back.

Subtract ALL of your business investment from $6,000 when YTB cuts you that check for the difference even if NOBODY signed up in your YTB business. What's left over?

I'll tell you what's left over....a lot more than your boss gives you and you still can't right off your job.

And you can't pass your job down to your kids either. Isn't that a nice feeling for that new baby your friend or relative or neighbor just had.

As long as you have a dream and hope and a vision, you can't always count on YTB. It's working. Why not for you? 'Cause you think money still grows on trees! Wake up.

Great Book for non-financially educated people: The ABCs of Making Money, Revised and Updated. Copyright 2008 by Dr. Denis Cauvier and Alan Lysaght. Pay close attention to pages 194 and 195. RTAs can right off the book on their taxes. Get your education and make Uncle Sam pay for it this time, for all time.

The $6,000 guarantee is in your back office. Go find it, and get on AutoShip.

RECESSION? It's only in the mind of the lazy. Get busy. (Don't forget to add on that $960 you made with 10 friends for playing in the sand at Paradise Island)

blessin's

Guard yourself from Postal Heartbreak!

This should never happen to ANY American! But it happened to us....

To obtain a birth certificates or any other vital records, it is best to go with your state health department information.
Many websites (i.e. www.vitalchek.com) do not have immediate access to phone assistance, and charge non-refundable service fees.

Best route to go with birth certificate questions:
Find your home birth state's heatlh departments:

Also, most local health departments should be able to provide travelers with what they need to get their passports or visas. Word to the wise: "Don't mess with the Post Office!" People might find themselves contacting their "mental health departments" if they do!
