HOW OUR GROUP BEGAN. . . (then at the end, a message from a barefoot angel)

OUR SPONSOR, KEVIN VAUGHAN SAID "YES WE CAN!!!. . .and we all began.

Kevin contacted us cold. We were just as cold as the weather at our first travel party. And Melissa Boston was a total stranger but literally warmed the room with her genuine caring about a financially and time-broke couple in Indiana, where NO one actively engaged in YTB existed on Team Vision. That skeptical, dream-dead yet hopeful couple was Ken & Cynth'ya Reed. Professions: Teacher and Investigative Research Journalist and poet.

(Kevin sure could pick 'em, huh? They didn't even believe in anyone saying "Right Place Right Time" anymore. Until YTB--and it took the FIRST convention to convince Cynth'ya into a believer. Kenneth said "yes" and Cynth'ya said "Whatever!"

THE VERY FIRST R and L Group Travel Party:
February 18, 2006 (Temperature: 8 degrees above zero, wind chill unmentionable, full house of 12 people showed up. Irony: The first person to sign up, Phyllies Burks Beatty, was not on the Reed's original list. Kenny & Cynth'ya thought she'd be too busy. So they decided to ask Phyllies' for her sister-in-law's number. Phyllies asked why we wanted the number. We told her about the travel party. Phyllies asked if it's alright if she could attend. Phyllies was among the first to arrive, followed by 11 other friends and 1 very well behaved dog named Dottie owned by one of Cynth'ya's artistic friends who did not join YTB but won a door prize in the form of a paid trip and now faithfully books on the Reed's website, and who promotes YTB as having "the best travel prices on the internet."

Melissa Boston, then a new 1st Level National Director shared the YTB presentation in full. At the time there were fewer than 25,000 RTAs in YTB nation-wide. (As of September 13, Cynth'ya's birthday, the number of RTAs in the country rivals 110,000 and fiercely climbing because of the biggest documented market shift in the history of the world...Internet Travel).

Two individuals, Phyllies Beatty and Ron and Judy Hill, both of Muncie, signed up immediately, and the Reeds made their first $100 just by welcoming people to their home and having their senior partner support them. One month later, they became Power Team Leaders at Phyllies' grand opening travel party/YTB business overview, and Phyllies qualified at her first travel party to become an instant PowerTeam Leader as well. Total attendance at Phyllies' grand opening: 24 people. Six signed up to become RTAs. Phyllies made $300.

As of July 2008, Team SPECTRUM via the R and L Group LLC's first team is composed of 245 team members in 17 states and in Canada. At least 1/3 of those went thru certification training. RTA Retention rate is between 80 and 85 percent because you can lead a horse to the barn but you straight up can't make "Old Paint" eat the hay.

Yes, YTB works! We ARE going to be the number one Travel Agency in the world by 2011. So the question now becomes, when are you going to decide that it's time YTB started working for you by positioning yourself in front of the biggest market shift that world will ever witness? (Shoulda, woulda, coulda, is for those who "wait and see."

(What many onlookers will unfortunately say without a doubt is  "How could I have missed this one, when my friends who cared about me said YTB will be the biggest travel company in the world, and I missed it?)

Will that person be YOU?

... but first. . .a little barefoot  message.

An angel and a YTB RTA were having a conversation:

'How does one acknowledge God's blessings?', the RTA asked.

'Simple,' the angel answered. Just say, 'Thank you, Lord.'

But I'm working so hard to build my team, and some ask me "how much money have YOU made" and scoff at my efforts?  So what blessings should I acknowledge?'

The angel replied:

'If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep you are richer than 75% of this world.

If you have money in the bank, residual income to bless others with more money in your wallet, and spare change in a dish to remember where you came from, then you are far above the top 8% of the world's wealthy .'  And remember,  YTB  doesn't just mean "Your Tax Buddy" or "Your Travel Biz". . . it also means "You're Truly Blessed."

'And if you get this on your own computer, you are part of the 1% in the world who has that opportunity.'

'If you woke up this morning with more health than illness ... you are more blessed than the many who will not even survive this day .'

'If you have never experienced the fear in battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation (which never happens on a cruise ship!) ... you are ahead of 700 million people in the world.'

'If you can worship God without the fear of harassment, arrest, torture or death you are envied by, and more blessed than, three billion people in the world .'

'If your parents are still alive and still married ...you are very rare .'

'If you can hold your head up and smile, you are not the norm, you're unique to all those in doubt and despair.'

If you can read this message, you just received a double blessing in that someone was thinking of you as very special and you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world who cannot read at all.

Have a good day, count your blessings, and if you want, pass this along to remind everyone else how blessed we all are. . . now back to the beginning. . .

  After spending thirteen years in the ministry, in January 1981 Lloyd “Coach” Tomer became an agent of the A. L. Williams Company (now known as Primerica Financial Services). He achieved the level of Senior National Sales Director in 1985 and maintained that position through 2001. While at A. L. Williams the JLT Group built a successful sales organization numbering in the thousands, whose combined life insurance sales were measured in the billions, with assets under management of $750 million. He retired after accomplishing his goal of helping his team members achieve financial independence. In 2001 Lloyd co-founded YourTravelBiz.com and is now mentoring a new group of leaders who will set the standards for excellence in the referral marketing industry.

  Scott Tomer was Lloyd Tomer’s first recruit in the A.L. Williams Company with the responsibility of field support and training for a sales force numbering over 2,000. He became a National Sales Director before leaving in 1992. Scott and his father have worked together on many projects; their goal is to use what they learned and build a great and profitable company that delivers a product with great value to the customer, and compensates its sales force in direct proportion to their efforts with no income limits.   Kim Sorensen had an extensive business background before joining the JLT Group in 1981. He had owned businesses and managed a multi-million dollar real estate complex in Springfield, IL. He rose to the position of Senior Vice President with A. L. Williams. Kim is the person who first realized the awesome potential of combining internet travel and referral marketing. He made the decision to move to the St. Louis area to help Lloyd with whatever was needed to grow YourTravelBiz.com, providing technical and management support. He designed and implemented many programs that are still being used today. The Rep and Travel websites, marketing materials, operations, and the YTB Travel Network have benefited from his leadership. His vision helped turn the dream of YourTravelBiz.com into the reality it is today.
